Breast Cancer Awareness Month

Take Action Against Breast Cancer

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Did you know that 1 in 9 Canadian women will be diagnosed with breast cancer in their lifetime? Mammograms save lives by detecting breast cancer early. If you're a woman 50 to 74 years old, get a mammogram every two years.

To book a mammogram call the Ontario Breast Cancer Screening Program directly at 1-800-668-9304 to book your appointment today! For more information about cancer screening, visit www.cancercare.on.ca.

Mammograms Save Lives - Spread the Message!

You could help save a life! The Canadian Cancer Society's 'Women to Women' movement aims to rally women together to increase awareness about the importance of breast cancer screening. Women accross Ontario are invited to become Ambassadors so they can spread the word to the women they care for that mammograms save lives. Being an Ambassador is easy - in total it's just a few hours of time but the impact is significant.

Visit www.cancer.ca/womentowomen for more information on how you can become an Ambassador or click here for the 'Women to Women' fact sheet.
